Technically minded, with an experienced mechanical background, I am seeking an opportunity to work within a family focused environment as a parent of two elementary school students.
With a history in wheelchair sports dating back to the late 70s. while competing I would travel the province speaking to schools and community groups about the importance of sport and how those lessons cross over to
real world goals. Later as a member of the esteem team and as an RBC Olympian I continued to present my strategies for life and sport.
Provided mentoring, coaching, and leading a sales team to those around me. As a part of the national teams my focus was on assisting other
athletes and sales reps with the necessary tools for building success.
In the last 15 years I have worked in the medical equipment business assisting new clients with overcoming their physical challenges. Most
recently as a RHFAC professional I have been evaluating and recommending accessibility solutions for cities and businesses’ wanting to
prepare for the aging demographics.
Sales Representative working with the Occupational Therapist/healthcare team to provide high quality care and service in completing rehab equipment requests/orders. This included identification of client needs and
providing rehabilitation equipment to improve client outcomes, as well as identifying and fabricating adaptations with existing equipment to improve client positioning/seating and or functional abilities. Used good working
knowledge of healthcare products to respond to customer inquiries and requests from the healthcare team.
Trained and competed in various disabled sports including local, provincial, national and international levels, as well and participating in 5 Paralympic games (1988, 1992, 1994, 1998, and 2002) winning 12 Paralympic medals for Canada. During this time skills also included designing and developing disabled sporting equipment for wheelchair athletes, Paralympians, and personal use.
